One Kings Lane Photo shoot

A couple weeks back I was able to do a photo shoot with photographer Sarah Shreves of where I work in the Community Woodshop LA. It will be shown on my One Kings Lane profile for the Heirloom Sale I will be doing on Jan.27. She did an amazing job and I just wanted to share a couple of my favorites from the bunch.

CAFAM Emerging Artists Sale

I was excited to be apart of the CAFAM Emerging Artists Sale yesterday in Los Angeles. I was so happy to see a lot of familiar faces stop in to say hi, even buy some of my work! Thank you for coming out, even in the rain! There was even a corner of Otis Alum , Tiffany, Joanne and Lydia, showcasing our work. See some photos I posted below of the sale. In other news, I have updated my website with newer products! Take a look! My goal is to have a store by the end of the year! Wish me luck :)

West Coast Craft + New Cork Vessels

I had an amazing time at West Coast Craft. I am so fortunate and happy to have been apart of such a wonderfully curated show. Everyone brought such beautiful work! I was able to meet a bunch of lovely designers and people through out the weekend. Overall I received a positive response to my cork and wooden vessels, people were amazed that I could lathe cork! (Which are now up for everyone to see!) I hope I will be able to be apart of the next one they have! Below are some images of the new cork vessels I designed!

I am thrilled to announce that I will be doing my very first craft fair next week at West Coast Craft in San Francisco!  I am honored to be apart of it with so many great people  showing as well such as BZIPPY & CO, Cathy Callahan and Kkibo. I have been working hard making a new series of bowls, cake stands, vases and cutting boards for the event. It has been go-time for awhile now, and im both excited and nervous that it's almost here! Yee– wish me luck!

Teaching at the Community Woodshop LA!

I am now an instructor at the Community Woodshop! Whoo-hoo! I am super excited to be apart of the program, Ill be teaching a couple classes a month on how to wood turn on a lathe. So far I am teaching a two day course for beginners to intermediate on turning bud vases. On the first day I will explain the basics of turning in which you will be able to practice using the different techniques. Second day you are more hands on and independent, so you will be able to make a finished bud vase using hardwood. It's super fun and easy class, if you are interested in taking a class, sign up here or just take a look! There are tons of other classes as well at the Woodshop that I am even excited on attending!

Boisbuchet Workshop

In August I had the privilege of doing the Design Vitra's Boisbuchet Workshop. It took a 13 hour flight to Paris a 3 hour train ride to Poitiers and a 2 hour bus ride to pretty much the middle of nowhere in France. But it had to have been one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at. The domain had a river, lake with canoeing, chicken coops, donkeys you can only find in France, a mini wood shop, a gorgeous clay kiln that was completely fired by wood (only two in the world) and of course a beautiful castle! It was pretty much a glorified adult design camp, and man was it fun! I attended the Snarkitecture workshop which was about excavating natural material from the earth and making different objects by casting with it using plaster. My classmates started out with some weird stuff, but after making throughout the whole week we all finally got a hang of it and ended with some interesting objects. Although on my spare time I was able to hang out at the woodshop, which had two super old lathes. I found spare cork lying around (yes, it was that kind of place) and made some really fun cork objects. Which I am trying to explore for new products! Boisbuchet was an amazing experience, I met some of the most talented folks and I know for sure I will attend another workshop in the future!
