Studio Tour

This month I am celebrating my one year anniversary in the Bay Area. It's been a year of ups and downs, celebrations and mistakes for my business and personal life. I am so happy I was able to make the move up from Los Angeles to Oakland, it has been such an adventure! The bay has treated me well and I have been able to build my business this past year with the thriving community of Oakland creatives.

I probably shouldn't have gotten my studio when I did, but boy am I glad I took that leap (where would all my product have gone?)! To celebrate, I finally was able to photograph my space with the amazing photographer Daniel Dent. I must have changed the layout of my studio at least a dozen times, making my studio mate Gabriel help me in the process (move this here, no over there!). I think I am happy with how everything turned out and I can say that I spent many late nights on Pinterest trying to get inspired! With the help of my good friend, Adrian Clutario, I was able to stick with a layout that would help keep me the most organized and productive. Thanks for following along on this journey and enjoy the tour!

NY Now Recap!

At the beginning of the month, I attended NY Now at the Javits Center with the collective Join Design. It was such a rewarding and fun experience being around such great designers through out the four day show. Including Superfruit, Pigeon Toe, Avandi, and Caravan Pacific to name a few. Since it was my first trade show I really had no expectations on what to expect. I was lucky to be able to take notes and tidbits from my fellow designers when talking to buyers . I ended up geting some great press via social media. Dwell posted about my cork + wood collection as well as Refinery 29. I hope to attend the summer show in august and now have a boat load of orders to turn! Below are some images of the show and people, as you can see...we had fun :)

Bunk House Shoot

At the the beginning of the year, my friend Eva Kolenko asked Rick and I to do a photoshoot for her portfolio. I was delighted by the change of tune and immediantly said yes! Plus, I would have a bunch of new photos to share with you guys! It was shot in the beautiful Marin county, which is across the golden gate bridge heading to Napa. We shot the photos in a bunkhouse that Eva rented with another couple. We did a bunch of really intimate shots, that became awkward  at times because we had to do it over 10 or more times! It was a LONG and fun day, I now have a new found respect for any model out there! Sharing some of my favorites below and check out the full shot list on Eva's blog here.
